This project is designed for 3 academic years. Age range - children from 6 to 17 years old. Younger groups (students in grades 1-4) cover children of 6-10 years old, middle (students in grades 5-9) -11-15 years old, older (students in grades 10-11) - 16-17 years old. During the academic year: conducting classes once a week, holding meetings and events once a month. At the end of the academic year - a final photo exhibition.
The content of each lesson has a correctional, developmental focus, contributes to the development of creative potential, social and communicative competence. Classes are conducted by a teacher, a speech therapist, a computer science teacher and student volunteers. Throughout all the activities and classes, assistants (parents, high school students, volunteers) are next to students with special psychophysical needs, providing them with guiding assistance.
Thus, the pedagogical value of the project is that it gives students the opportunity to:
increase (develop) social and communicative competence, acquire peculiar practical and social experience;
get acquainted with new interesting activities, new knowledge;
learn how to collect, process and disseminate information;
learn communication skills through joint activities with healthy peers;
improve self-esteem and personal status in the children's community;
determine life views and values.
Stages and plan of the project:
1.Preparatory stage:
analysis of special literature, the acquaintance with inclusive education system organization in Germany, the USA;
studying public opinion on the integration of people with special psychophysical needs into the local community, fears of parents raising children with special psychophysical needs, the opinion of adolescents and young people with special psychophysical needs about the availability of various institutions in the city;
creation and organization of the activities of the creative group of teachers for the implementation of the project;
development of a program for the club “Freeze-frame”;
creating a plan of joint activities;
purchase of specialized equipment (video cameras, cameras, a smartphone, a voice recorder, a microphone, tripods, a printer for printing photos, an MFP, paper, photo paper, markers and other stationery;
training a school employee in photography courses.
2. The main stage:
acquaintance with students, the program, acquaintance games;
testing to identify knowledge of the profession of a journalist;
acquaintance with the history of journalism, the specifics of the profession of a journalist;
purchase of specialized equipment (a camera, a video camera, a selfie stick, a tripod, a printer for printing photos).
Theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas:
- Mass media;
- Information;
- Title, heading, headline;
- Language tools: speaking and writing;
- Genres of journalism. Interview;
- Genres of journalism. Report;
- Excursion to the newspaper office;
- Release of own information publication.
-Presentation of newspapers, social videos, photo exhibition.
-Publication and distribution of the booklet “Planet of Tolerance”.
3. Final stage:
Hosting events:
- joint holidays;
- parents’ meetings;
- training seminars for the adult population (teachers, parental community);
- photo exhibitions;
- publication and distribution of the booklet “Planet of Tolerance”.
Summarizing:
- preparation of the reporting presentation "Special children - an unusual photo perspective" about joint work on the project and its watching;
- studying the level of journalistic abilities and the level of satisfaction of students and children with special psychophysical needs, as well as their parents;
- carrying out a comparative analysis of the data obtained from the study of journalistic abilities of students and children with special psychophysical needs;
- conducting social surveys;
- informational coverage in the school newspaper, mass media;
- organization of photo exhibitions with the invitation of partners, sponsors;
- analysis of the effectiveness of the project, translation of work experience to form sustainable motivation for the manifestation of tolerance in society.
The indicators for assessing the effectiveness of the project are:
- a positive attitude towards the implementation of this project;
- maximum participation and assistance of teachers of educational institutions in various activities for children with special psychophysical needs and normally developing peers.
